Objectives
Southern States Scholars Collective Impact Group’s objectives are to create alignment, commitment, policy, funding, and trust across sectors (public, non-profits, business, governments, and foundations) to promote:
- "Legacy Film" Digital Content that informs the public of a "learning and earning" mindset from successful individuals. (E.g., Backstory and Beyond with John G. Daniel)
- Talent Development Pathways
- Qualification for Large Scale Federal Grants
- Federal Grant Writing
- Grant Management & Reporting
- Committed Collaborators Working Year-round
- Evidenced Based Evaluation

We do this by adopting a community-determined common agenda, shared measurement that prioritizes lived experience, mutually reinforcing activities built on trust and strong relationships, culturally responsive communication, grounding in equity, race, and intersectionality, placing equal emphasis on direct service and systems change, advocating for equitable distribution of resources and functioning as a binding “Backbone” that helps mobilize, coordinate and facilitate achieving our goal. Our motto is, “A Rising Tide Lifts All Boats”
